NOTES: (Breeding Status: unknown. Behav. Context: Feeding. Gen. Climate: Dry. Cover Density: Medium.) When we returned to camp, played tape for other members of group who doubted identification. Upon playing tape, a male Scott's Oriole flew in and responded to playhback. Everyone saw him clearly. Continued to sing for 15 or 20 minutes, and some of the song at the end of cut is of this second male. We're not sure whether this was the same or another oriole. LNS NOTE: Unbroken cut with internal recordist announcement/handling noise gain change (MJA, 17Feb2005). BNA: [Twenty songs and eight calls. The calls were apparently the whistled "peet" that is highlighted in LNS #109043, but apparently not described in the BNA account (3:31, 3:47, 4:04, 4:08, 4:09, 4:12, 4:42, 4:47). Quality changed from 3-2 to 2 (maybe even 2-1 after 4:30 - a bit of wind noise but otherwise good) - CAM - 24 January 2005]. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Habitat: Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest, Stream, Riparian.
