A couple of call notes near the beggining, and then a song bout starts at 0:13. Bird was observed to be adult male.

Observasjonsdetaljer

***First Country Record. Probable mated pair. Male singing at length from song perches in emergent trees of a shrubby field with a small wet spot (rushes or cattails), then feeding on grasses or similar plants about 1.3 m high. When the male flew to a feeding spot, we noticed a putative female follow. When he flew back to a song perch, she followed again. Photos obtained of both birds. Male all black, larger than other sporophilas and seedfinches, with huge flesh colored bill (pale yellowish-pink). Female dark brown dorsum and head, huge black bill, with paler base of mandible; wings darkest brown, underparts lighter brown. O. Komar heard an unusual song from the banding station and tracked it down. He made voice recordings, video and photos. Marcio Martínez also photographed the female.
