A pale morph Brown Falcon perching and preening in the wind. Brown Falcons (Falco berigora) are particularly common in the semi-arid shrublands of the Murchison region of Western Australia. They have variable plumage, ranging from dark brown to rufous to paler forms – all forms have pronounced facial markings. This Brown Falcon is a pale morph. It was perched on top of a Miniritchie (Acacia grasbyi), preening as it was buffeted by the wind. Elevation: 249 m. Date added to IBC: July 1, 2019.
