A White-plumed Honeyeater preening. The White-plumed Honeyeater (Ptilotula penicillata) is found in the semi-arid regions of central and western Australia and more generally in wetter habitats in the south-east. White-plumed Honeyeaters occupy a range of habitats from forests to semi-arid shrublands, but is always associated with water and trees. This bird was perched on the edge of the Gascoyne River at Carnarvon in Western Australia in River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) forest, preening in the afternoon sun. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: August 26, 2018.
