A Correndera Pipit perching, then flying off. The Correndera Pipit (Anthus correndera) is widespread in southern South America and is found in a variety of habitats, from heathland and grassland to wetter habitats such as bogs and marshes. Correndera Pipits are mainly insectivorous, but take other small invertebrates and probably some seeds. This adult was perching on a lichen-covered fence post at the Tres Puentes wetland (Mirador Humedal 3 Puentes) in Punta Arenas in southern Chile. Elevation: 4 m. Date added to IBC: March 2, 2019.
