Yellow-billed Duck perching on a log. The Yellow-billed Duck (Anas undulata) is a common resident throughout most of South Africa, with its range extending to the Okavango Delta in Botswana in southern Africa. Yellow-billed Ducks are mostly nomadic and inhabit sluggish and still waters of lakes, rivers, estuaries and other wetland habitats. Yellow-billed Ducks are dabbling ducks, foraging by up-ending to graze on aquatic plants and some animal matter such as Chironomid larvae. This Yellow-billed Duck was loafing on a log at Otter Brug (Otter Bridge) in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. Elevation: 1481 m. Date added to IBC: June 12, 2018.
