A Ring-necked or Cape Turtle Dove perching and preening. The Ring-necked or Cape Turtle Dove (Streptopelia capicola) is one of the most common birds in southern Africa, occurring in almost all habitats except forests and the arid coastal deserts of Namibia. Like most dives I feeds mainly on seeds but also eats fruit, termites and some other insects. Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: June 10, 2018.
