Kommentarer

First segment is a female moving around about 30m from an active nest cavity, giving agitated calls (started before we arrived, perhaps in response to the presence of a flicker, a flock of starlings and blackbirds, or some other source we didn't see.) The next couple segments are of the nestlings begging from the nest hole, in a barkless, broken off snag about 4m off the ground. They would increase the volume of their begging when they heard me moving around below the nest. Finally, the last few segments are of both parents (male and female) moving around the nest area, now both giving agitated calls, probably waiting for us to leave to go in to feed the nestlings. Nestling begging can still be heard in the background. Recordist's presence. Other Behaviors: Beg.
