Observasjonsdetaljer
Plumage matches GREL, although the tips to the secondary coverts are a bit more demarcated than usual (i.e, shows a strong hint of wing bars, colored olive green). This was a very small bird, perched at the edge of shrubbery only about 1 meter or less off the ground, border between mangroves/broadleaf trees and open savannah/beach habitat. It struck me as much smaller than a Greenish Elaenia, about the size of one of the larger tyrannulets (such as Mouse-colored Tyrannulet). I.e., smaller even than a Least Flycatcher. Also, the entirely black mandible doesn't match GREL, but perhaps this coastal population is smaller and darker mandibled. Bill also seems shorter than a typical GREL. I showed the photos to Jan Axel Cubilla who thinks it is GREL.
