NOTES: Odd songs recorded in three parts (6:19, 6:39, 7:33), the first natural, the others after playback and especially whistled imitations; recorded along entrance road about 300 m in from highway at edge of area in which understory had been largely cleared; bird was initially 20+ m away and quite low (<1 m) in very dense undergrowth at old tree-fall gap; bird was only 8 m away for last part; no response to initial playback and whistling, but bird eventually approached and was well seen giving the same song; bird was moving quite a bit, seen running along fallen logs and standing upright when it sang; partly to mostly cloudy, 78-80¡; apparently a single bird but possibly a duet??. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth.
