Recent arrival in this area, moving between here and Dosoris Pond for the past week or so. Observed immediately as I approached, coming in for a landing on the pond as the flocks of geese resettled after apparently being disturbed to my prior arrival. Kept fairly close to the two Snow Geese, which provided a welcome side-by-side comparison. Spent most of its time paddling around, but eventually hauled out to graze on the fairways with its associates. Petite, stubby-billed, immaculate white goose, the white Anser answer to Cackling Goose. My long overdue first for Nassau County
