Lifer!! Medium loon, a little smaller than Common, with a straight bill that's thicker than RTLO but thinner than Common. Seen close to the pier briefly, long enough for diagnostic photos, but it disappeared quickly. Upon review of photos, there appears to be two moderately distant birds photographed with enough detail to make out distinct "shoulders" and chinstrap of Pacific Loon. As such, I'm bumping the count up to two, as I can't prove that the one I saw near the pier was not one of these.
