LIFER!!!!!! FINALLY this bird is becoming a nemesis after searching for it at beilingshan, missing it at huolushan after mistaking its song for mountain tailorbird, and dipping again at qingxiushan due to a particularly unconfiding individual. at exactly i23.18513422963334, 113.2974186907399 heard its song initially it was very far up so I slowed down to listen but 没有抱太大希望 because the hill is very dense here, but suddenly i heard it closer and closer to me, on the uphill side of the road at this bend there is one area where there are dry vines/branches with zero leaves and some vegetation covering it with the bare mud hillside in the back, have habitat shots. relatively dry with enough cover but also clear enough so that i could see any movement easily. listend for a bit and played some song, it sung back initially but didnt take too long probably only 2-3 min before i saw some moveent north of the dry vines and it popped out on a branch! with bare eyes saw a small lbj with VERY BRIGHT white eyebrows/throat, but when i got camera it already turned its back. was already good enough but i waited for it to move around a bit more and didnt do any more playback, after less than 1 min heard song again in the dry vine area and it was right there, its white eyebrows and throat almost glowing in the dark environment, used camear manual focus to get pics and saw it singing!!!! sooooo beautiful i forgot that the subspecies here isn't blue like the ebird profile pic, the male is brown like the female but with the extra white, still its beautiful is very subtle, very very very cute as well . only stayed there to sing for about 20 sec then it disppeared into the vegetation and i didnt disturb it further. walking about 10 min more along the road heard another at a bendin the road and interestingly in almost the same kind of environment (dry branches/vines at hillside). hmmm...
