*Mega, 2nd one seen in Canada, 1st for BC. Adult (?) plumage male first identified by J Wells on the reservoir at ~12:40. Seen with other Aythya ducks. Dark rufous head, pale grey back and flanks, dark black chest and posterior. Forehead was slightly steeper than that of Canvasback and the bill had a prominent large pale band - lightest on the leading edge. Red eyes were clearly visible. The pale grey on the back and flacks was lighter than the grey of Redhead but darker than the white found on Canvasbacks. Photos will be uploaded soon
