Looked like 1st summer. Thick, dark bill (light near the base); grayish back, some brown on upper back; lacking the small white dots and other fine markings of juvs, but clearly not adult. It did not look quite as streaky as in the not-well-focused photo, but it did blend in very well with the vegetation behind it. When I spotted it, it had both wings held open. In the corner at Famosa St., where I often see a YCNH, usually adult. I noticed lots of crabs moving on the mud nearby.
