3 birds were located from this location by Saikat Das, Sandip Das, and Swarup Sarkar, on 9th March, 2025,during the Ganges Bird Survey conducted by Malda Forest Division with the help of Green Peoples India and Birdwatchers Society. The presence of this species from the state of West Bengal is confirmed with photographic evidence almost after(at least) 45 years, when Veteran Birder Late Ajoy Home recorded this species( visual sightings only) near Bolpur, Shantineketan, West Bengal in 1982. To ascertain its presence and to plan a roadmap for its protection a team of Birders, forest officials( including Divisional Forest Officer) and officers from the general administration went there and we recorded and photographed two individuals from the exactly same location from where it was sighted 2 days ago. A great discovery for the species from West Bengal and a 2nd photographic record after the 9th March,2025, sighting. Photographs taken.
