female (mom) and 3-4 week old chick

Female was perched in nest box opening when the chick pushed its way. into the opening as well. For about 5 minutes they perched together before the chick went back into the nest. Shortly thereafter the female began her now routine 8 pm forays to get food. She returned multiple times with food. Her second foray she was away for over 5 minutes. The chick was in the box opening, sometimes leaning out precariously. Presume the male, as is his recent behavior, perched nearby. No observation of 2nd chick.
