Heard calling as I approached the first real set of cliffs on the trail, just below the clouds and snowline, where several different birds had concentrated including a large GCKI/BRCR mixed flock, a HAWO, and a foraging RTHA. Was dreading the heard-only documentation but a little farther along the trail I was surprised to find the bird foraging on the snowy talus on the trailside. Photos. Not my first winter gorge CANW, seems the species may be sparse but regular here. They are certainly difficult to detect.
