A green heron flew into the pond from the east and glided to the center area on the southern bank. It fished for a minute or two, but I'm unsure if it caught anything. Then it took off and coasted in, low above the water, to the north western bank of Beaver Pond and settled upon some large downed logs. It walked along them, looking for fish. After a minute it hopped to another set of logs and began hunting again, watching underneath the water carefully. It plucked a fish out of the water and flapped onto another log, then ate the fish down. It cleaned its bill or got a bit of water, then launched itself into the air and floated toward the farther, western bank.
