Beautiful dark morph perched in tree near road. Poor digiscoped photos to be added shortly. Having complete hundreds of raptor surveys in the prairies, my immediate impression of the birds’ structure was SWHA. When perched, the bird had a smallish bill (relative to RTHA), some white visible on the face, thin undertail barring and light undertail coverts. After taking flight, I had good looks at the long, tapered wings, lighter rufous primaries, and a thin, white upper tail band. The bird circled west and out of sight. This does not appear to be the same bird seen nearby in 2020 after looking through photos on eBird.
