Photographed. With the Grey Teal flock and not associating with Hardheads. Determined to be a hybrid due to displaying similar features of both species. Eye was not white but a golden colour (Grey Teal have reddish eyes), head shape like a Grey Teal with half male Hardhead colour extending to a pattern over the eye. Breast is lighter Hardhead colour but has the 'gibber' pattern of a Grey Teal. Also a 'pale bum' which is diagnostic of Hardheads. Bill shape and profile was more Grey Teal but colour resembled Hardhead but lacked the white tip seen in Hardheads.
