Red Breasted Sapsucker & Anna's Hummingbird. The Sapsucker drills through the bark to bring the sap to the surface. Anna's Hummingbirds frequently buzzed around the sapsuckers. Perhaps they will lap up some of the sweet sap. This video shows the sapsucker listening to the calls of a Northern Flicker. Near the end of the video, the Anna's Hummingbird perches directly above the sapsucker. I noticed the hummingbird only after viewing the video at home. I missed a good opportunity to have them both centered in the video. Elevation: 142 m. Date added to IBC: October 5, 2018.
