It prefers wetlands, shallow lakes and mudflats and is often seen fishing in drying river pools. Yellow-billed Stork often fish open-billed, with one wing spread, stirring the silt with its foot to flush prey. This bird was fishing in Sunset Dam, Kruger Park when two Nile Crocodiles moved close to it – the stork seemed very aware of them and moved away. Elevation: 287 m. Date added to IBC: April 1, 2018.
