An adult feeding on a California Sea Lion carcass. This species is a resident of the high Arctic and accidental to most of the Lower 48 United States. This represents the 2nd California record, and both the only records on the Pacific Coast south of the Canadian border. This gull was discovered November 4th in an area of Pismo Beach near the community of Grover Beach. Elevation: 2 m. Date added to IBC: June 22, 2016.
