A vagrant first winter male on a seawall and at one stage showings it tail pattern. This is the first record for the region. The tail pattern is shared only with the similar Black-eared Wheatear. The pattern on this individual actually is a better match for Black-eared but there is much variability. Other features such as the mantle, scapular and throat confirm it is a Pied Wheatear.
