Displaying at a lek (1 of 2). This bird was part of a small lek of Mionectes striaticollis displaying at Yanayacu Biological Station in Ecuador, around 2,050 m elevation. In this video you can see the bird regurgitate and then re-swallow a fruit/seed. The bird also appears to make use of its neck and chest feathers as part of the display. Sticky fruits (mistletoes?) appear to be stuck to the branch below the perch, and the forest floor was littered with the same red fruit the bird regurgitates here. Elevation: 2097 m.
