I got to enjoy some quality time with this bird. When I first arrived at foot of the pier, this bird was out towards the middle near the gull/tern flock. It was working its way towards me pretty quickly and at one point flew off the pier and landed much closer. It eventually worked a small puddle on the pier just 20-30 feet from where I was laying down and then eventually walked right past me. Fun stuff!
