Weather: Fair, very light breeze in tree tops Habitat: Edge of Antarctic Beech (Nothofagus) forest Recordist says Brown Warbler (Gerygone richmondii) can be heard in the background. The current scientific name of this bird could not be found. Recordist's Notes: "The dominant bird in this recording I have been unable to identify. It may possibly be the Olive Whistler (Pachycephala olivacea), a shy uncommon inhabitant of the antarctic beeches at Lamington. I have never heard before the song taped in this cut. This very attractive song, whistled in a minor key (?), comes 5 and again 15 second from the start of cut, and again at 51 seconds, the last time immediately following a Whipbird's song. In addition, call notes, presumably made by the unseen bird, are heard nearly throughout the cut." [Times mentioned in these notes were made prior to digitization and will differ slightly in the digitized cut. 16Oct2012 BMW.]. Equipment Notes: Microphone: Norelco AKG DYN 200 24''/8'' Parabola.
