The world's rarest duck. Saw 12+ this morning on lake 1. Scanned lake 2 and 3 but found none. Got out in a boat and got great photos. Even found a pair with one chick. Apparently Madagascar Harriers like to eat the chicks. Nice chocolate Aythya with a right white eye and a white rump making them easy to pick out from a distance. Performed likes Aythyas should with lots of diving. Sometimes did a bit of head bobbing, especially before flying off. Amazing to have actually made it all this way and talked myself into the opportunity. Incredible!
