*beyond property boundary*, east. Around 0647, I first heard "chip-chip-chip" calls off to my E somewhere, then shortly after I located 2 snipes in flight E of me over the sewage pond area; one was making "chip" calls and the other was silent. They weren't flying super tight together but were loosely flying on the same trajectory for a short time. I focused on getting photos and noted them flying to the S, then coming back to the N. I then lost sight of both, but continued to hear these "chip" calls intermittently through 0651. At that point I again located 1 individual, again flying N, a bit to my E, fairly high, ca 10-15x shrub height. As it was flying and making "chip" calls it seemed to be beating its wings fairly constantly, then at least 3 times while I watched (in a short period, ca 30 seconds?), it tilted drastically to the right so it was maybe at a 90 degree angle or even slightly inverted, then back upright. Each iteration of this behavior was quite brief, and all were to the right. At 0658 I definitively heard a "winnow" flight display from a snipe once, apparently E of Head Lane at this point; I was not able to locate it visually. Heard the winnowing once more several minutes later. Twice at 0750 I again heard a snipe winnowing to the E.
