Empidonax flycatcher with almost all dark lower mandible (the color seemed ambiguous depending on light) and longish tail. Primary projection seemed too long for Dusky and somewhat short for Hammond's to me. Pale supraloral area stood out, suggesting Dusky flycatcher. Gray rather than yellow below, vested look with yellow wash restricted to lower belly. White outer edge to tail. Flicked tail upwards a couple of times after landing but no tail movements while perched. Observed closely for several minutes. Photos. Silent during observation period (certainly no 'peep' call, don't think I heard a 'whit'). I thought this may have been a Dusky, but after corresponding with Tom Wurster, decided it was a Hammond's (based on his input on head and body proportions, bill size, wing panel, primary projection).
