Some the scaup in this photo can be seen eating.

They were seen throughout the walk on the north-west area that is sheltered by the harbour and docking area for boats. They were often mixed in with other species of ducks, such as long-tails and mallards. The sex ratio seemed to be more male dominated, but not by much. Estimation 3:2 as a ratio. Many were seen diving and eating (presumably some kind of aquatic invertebrate)
