NOTES: Recorded near intersection of road to workers' housing and Avenida Perimetral Oeste. Probably, but not definitely a new bird. Unseen bird was about 50 m away and apparently in dense vine tangles in mid-levels of trees. I first heard bird sing at about 17:30, but it sang only intermittently at first. This cut began about when bird started singing consistently after missing about ten songs. The first part of this cut began at 17:41 and ended at 17:53, with the second-part beginning at 17:55 after a short break and ending at 17:59; bird was singing relatively infrequently at the end. Partly cloudy, calm, upper 70s. Sun was still in trees, but not for long. As of 18:08 the bird had not sung again ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus eytoni to Xiphorhynchus guttatus [eytoni Group] to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Dusk Song, Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Edge.
