2x Varied Lorikeets found feeding on the nectar of the flowering Coconut Palm closest to the Mundy Creek Bridge. This Species was first reported for 2018 more than a week ago by Sandy Caroll, who happened to be staying at the Holiday Park. Sandy saw 3x individual birds and had supporting photos also. Many birders have seen these birds since. This species is well out of accepted range, being more commonly found much further west near Cloncurry and Mount Isa.
