NOTES: BNA: The recording possibly begins with a series of "Kek" calls (described as "kek-kek-kek", "kik-kik-kik" or "bup-bup-bup" and then is followed by the "Clapper" vocalization, which is described as "chock-chock-chock-chock-chock-chock-chock-chock" or a series of "cac-cac-cac" or "jupe-jupe-jupe". CZ 17/02/2004. [This recording begins with seven examples of what is probably the agitated "Kek" Call of BNA, these followed by four examples of the "Clapper" Call. This represents R. l. scottii based on range (following BNA). The four sets of "clapper" calls here appear to have been given by at least three different birds. It appears that Figure 3a of BNA account erroneously depicts the "clapper" call as the "Kek-hurrah"; see also Figures 2 and 3a of Massey and Zembal (1987. Vocalizations of the Light-footed Clapper Rail. J. Field Ornithol. 58:32-40). Quality added (2-1, 3 - the signal is a little weak for first few calls but the loudest call is overloaded and has a gain change in the middle) - CAM - 6 April 2005]. Habitat: Wetland, Salt Marsh, Brackish Marsh, Bay/Harbor.
