Originally found by the Stoll brothers earlier in the day. A gull-like bird first observed resting with white underparts, dark back, black cap, and white/smudgy collar (white collar eliminates other pterodroma sp.) The bird was chased by a Bald Eagle at one point, giving the group decent in-flight views including the distinct angular wing shape and crisp white uppertail coverts. The underparts were clean white except the black border of the wings. The lack of extensive white on the forehead suggest Dark-faced, as does the smudgy gray in the collar compared to the clean white collar of the White-faced birds. Hopefully others photos will show this better than my poor photo. 2nd state record and my first ever tubenose.
