Seen well, photographed, and vocalizations recorded. Many of the recordings have flight calls and spectrograms generated from all of them show that these were type 2s. The general appearance of the flight calls was a rapid downward slur although many were variants with a kink in the middle. The flight calls were typically centered at about 3.5 kHz. Some of the birds also produced "toop" or excitement calls at 2.5 KHz and both males and females were singing. We saw flocks of up to 15 birds flying while simultaneously hearing other birds in nearby trees. 20 is probably a conservative estimate. Inspection of my photos later indicated that at least two of the birds were immature males with splotchy red and yellow plumage. This suggests recent breeding.
