A juvenile flushed from along the stream in reach 3 at ca 0921 and flew upstream. I had seen a movement of something large in the shrubs and walked that way, at which point it flushed. Brownish back; streaky below; long tail; head large and projecting beyond wings; series of wingbeats fast and powerful. Poor-quality photo. At 0935, a juvenile (probably the same bird?) flushed from farther up in reach 3, still along the stream, and flew south. I saw it well and got some more bad photos. Notable gap in tail feathers, somewhere in the middle more or less. Lost sight of it roughly south across Birdseye Rd, near a residence with surrounding trees. Immediately after, another similar-size raptor flew downstream over the field, south of the creek, with strong wingbeats. Had horizontal barring on its underside - got a brief view and then got photos. For some reason, from my initial impression I was hoping it was a PEFA, but did not see Falco wing shape; photos confirm it was another COHA, an adult.
