観察結果の詳細
First seen at 7:30 am on the well-known wood pile to the north of the road about 100 yards west of South River Road. First noticed smooth gray breast and belly with small round head and narrow eye-ring, proportionately short, straight, black bill and long thin tail with white sides like mockingbird but without white patches in wings. Several slightly larger mockingbirds on the pile as well, some chasing the solitaire as it fed on pokeweed and elderberry berries. The bird approached very close to us at the roadside, and we got some excellent photos (the three below by Mike Reinhart). We pointed the bird out to another group of 5-6 birders led by Sonia Santa Ana, who all saw the bird as well. Could not re-find the bird when sought out between 10:30 and 11:00 am.
