Black bird with grayish belly and white bands on undertails. One of the bird looked slightly bigger and had a vague eyering. Perches on low branches and occasionally on wires. Actively catching caterpillars at will. Comes to the ground to catch caterpillars from plants and flyback to a low branch perch to eat. Once I saw it perch close to 2 Drongoes. The Drongo did not chase it away. When one of the Drongo caught a butterfly and came back to the same perch, this cuckoo went to it and opened its mouth like a juvenile asking for food. The Drongo shooed it away. Photos in Drongo section. The cuckoo is not in its Juvenile morph and is very well able to catch its own prey. I saw it catch at least 7 or 8 while I was there. Why would it still go and open its mouth to another bird?
