In Group 1, close to me
観察結果の詳細
Very large number. Prior to today, the county high count was 10. Very small, yellow-legged sandpipers feeding actively on the top of the dam. "Hunchbacked," as one local birder describes accurately described them. Rather long black bill. Yellow legs are the key, separating them. Count method: One by one. Counted 16 three times, 17 once, and 18 once. I'll use 17. There were, generally, two groups, one group at the near side at the dam, and the others in the central part of the dam, but away from the dam face. The first group was 1 to 3, and the second group around 15 on average. My view of the closest part of the dam was blocked, so that area may have been the source of the counts above 16. In the attached photos, I've tried to show the largest group for an idea of numbers, and some details of the birds for species ID and feeding habits. The SPSA stayed at the dam face. They are noticeably larger than the LESA. The KILL stayed at the far side of the water flow, not interacting with the LESA at all.
