Pics. The red-headed woodpeckers were so active and playful today! Putting my camera aside, I sat down just to listen to their banter and watch their enthusiastic playfulness. I couldn’t tear myself away! Their energy and exuberance was contagious. I was smiling from ear to ear while I sat observing this wildlife “theater”. I had it all to myself. TOTAL BLISS! They chased each other through the air, around trees, chatting away. One landed directly above me on tree top next to the towpath edge where I sat. It looked down at me like “don’t tell them I’m over here.” What a LOVELY, blissful day!
