Continuing bird. Loon seen far out towards the northeast side of the lake in the company of two Common Loons. Distant views with 20-60x80 spotting scope. Cloudy conditions made for good balanced viewing. Compact loon with distinct cobra-like puffy round head held horizontally, slender bill, dark above, pale below, and characteristic well defined clean black and white unbroken border to neckline. Contrasting silver pale gray crown/nape could be seen at times. Good comparative side-by-side study of Pacific vs Common today. Size and structural differences between the two species was well defined. Photo'd.
