An adult in non-breeding plumage found amongst the flock gulls that was roosting and preening on the gravel road between the east and south central ponds. Noted the following: an adult gull, slightly larger than nearby California Gulls but smaller than nearby Glaucous-winged Gulls; rounded head giving a "cute" expression rather than the "fierce" expression of the nearby California Gulls; heavily streaked head and neck; dark iris; more delicate bill compared to nearby GWGUs with a small red-spotted gonys but no other markings; pink legs; pale gray mantle and wing coverts; primaries with black limited to the upper side of the outer most primaries but grayish on the underside of the primaries (seen well when the bird briefly lifted its wings).
