I decided to stop and see if an old friend had returned for the winter during my lunch hour. I've noticed that Pacific Wrens tend to show up winter after winter in the same locations around the county. Whether they are the same individuals remains a mystery, but I halfway tested the hypothesis of their wintering site fidelity while driving the canyon today. Within minutes, I located this Pacific Wren where I've seen them in previous winters.
