Small goose about the size of nearby Cackling Geese (CACG). Light gray colored bill and white feathers encircling the bill extending patchily into face. Dark cap and brown cheek patch, with dark brown neck extending uniformly to breast. Orange legs visible when swimming. Going with CACG here because of similar size to nearby CACG, shorter neck than nearby CANG, head structure and overlap in breeding grounds with GWFG (less likely for CANG). Ruling out any Snow Goose/Ross’s Goose hybrids because they all seem to have more extensive white on the head, rather than just around the bill. The cap and neck seem too dark for a pure GWFG. I also found one here last winter. Will post photos.
