A male visited the water feature at our home outside of Mitchell. We have only seen it once but people are welcome to visit if they want to try for it. School was canceled here today because of the snow, and our private road has not been plowed yet, so AWD or 4WD is recommended to drive that last mile up the road to our driveway. We will be watching for it and will share if it returns. I’m not sure how regular it will be as we have no feeders up. The only attraction here is the flowing water. DESCRIPTION: medium-sized songbird about the size of a cardinal. Yellow breast and belly, black wings, lower wingbar whitish, upper wingbar yellow. Mantle solid grey. Head yellowish with a red wash over the front of the face - forehead, chin, some of the cheeks. Bill orange. Eye dark. Tail black. Rump yellow.
