Hastily entered initially as greater yellowlegs, then changed to large shorebird sp. After reviewing footage, i considered the size and thickness/shape of the bill and overall girthiness than greater yellowlegs. Was preening mostly, then wandered behind the back of the mudstrip. No time to chase it. I am wondering now if it may have been possibly a willet or a godwit. I only now (almost a week later) took a second closer look at the footage i took. Backlit in the angle it was positioned. Plumage looked generally plain, nothing outwardly buffy about it, especially through the bins. Visible dark tail. Looked visibly bigger than yellowlegs, dowitcher, or willet would in comparison to the cormorant's position in foreground. Longer bill than willet, slightly upturned, seems to taper to a point and seems not long enough to consider marbled godwit. Eyebrow apparent. My best educated guess would be Hudsonian Godwit. This wouldn't be the first time unusual migrants have stopped in the very spot it was standing in. Tried to eliminate other shorebirds to arrive at this ID. Revisited this ID after seeing my godwit pics from 08-21-2025 at Hoover Old Sunbury Rd mudflat with similar size, shape, distance and lighting
