Wow. It flew in and gave me a quick look before flying into private property to the northeast. It was here (32.05359, -108.87489) off McCarty Rd, across the road from a pecan orchard. Northern Flicker with a red crescent on the back of the head, and yellow underwings and undertail. Tan face and upper breast/throat, back of the head and nape were gray. Photos.
