Happened upon this bird foraging on the small lawn between Litchfield Villa and Prospect Park West. From a distance, assumed it was an American Robin. Scanned the area with bins in search of weird sparrows only to discover, much to my surprise, it was not an American Robin(!). Snapped a few panicked and pixelated iPhone pictures before the bird was accidentally flushed by passersby higher up the wooded slope. Thankfully refound and photographed by Ant, Maddy, Richard, and eventually MoB. The bird was sporadically spotted and photographed by the group as it moved around on the hillside over the next hour or so before I had to depart. Happy to stumble upon a much-wanted lifer and glad so many others got decent looks. Hope it sticks around for a few more days. Poor cell phone pics available — many others have better documentation.
